In previous positions with Hoechst Celanese Corporation and Merichem Company, Mr. Bodman formulated and managed a $300 Million+ capital plan and evaluated impact of multiple scenarios on proposed lignite gasification project design and economics. He has assembled and participated in executing operational, capital, and strategic plans for several chemical business units, service groups, and production sites, including Celanese’s methanol business and plants. Mr. Bodman controlled operating budgets of $5 Million+. He commissioned and operated two pioneering (first of a kind) chemical process units, participated in technology selection for a VTB gasification unit, developed process designs for major chemical process unit expansions, and prepared process concept/basic design and economics for retrofitting idle chemical production assets to produce new products. He supervised a process engineering group which provided operational and technical support to the plant utilities units including a heavy naphtha-fed Texaco gasifier and steam methane reformers.
B.S., Chemical Engineering, Texas A&M University. Graduate courses in Business Law and Financial Management, University of Houston. Additional courses, seminars and workshops: American Management Association Advanced Strategic Marketing, Kepner Tregoe Decision Making, Problem Solving & Project Management, and Celanese Corporate Leadership Program. He is a Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Chemical Society. Mr. Bodman has been awarded 3 US patents.
