Risk Management and Non-Recourse Finance
As President of Excipius LLC and Deputy Chairman of Q360 insurance brokerage firm based in London and Ft. Worth, Mr. Burggraf is responsible for mitigation of the completion risks to facilitate non-recourse project financing under property, casualty, and parametric and derivitive insurance products.
For over thirty years, Mr. Burggraf has been engaged in the international insurance community as Property⁄Casualty Insurance Underwriter with The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and The Hartford, where he created a risk and insurance program for privately held nursing homes that has become one of the largest and most profitable in the company's 200 year history; as Vice President of the insurance brokerage Johnson & Higgins, now a part of Marsh, Inc.; as owner of Excipius, LLC, a subcontractor for the US Department of State's Agency for International Development and founder of insurance companies in Bermuda, Croatia, Luxembourg, Paraguay, Ukraine and Viet Nam with an aggregate policyholder surplus of $50 billion; and most recently as Senior Vice President & Chief Risk Officer of DynCorp International, a publicly held US government contractor of some 32,000 employees and contractors with operations throughout the world, including Afghanistan, Cambodia, Colombia, Iraq, Israel, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Sudan.
With undergraduate and graduate degrees and professional certifications in Theology and Psychology, Mr. Burggraf has maintained affiliations with St. John's University's College of Insurance as a guest lecturer, the Institute for East West Studies as a corporate member, the International Risk & Insurance Society as a member and annual guest lecturer, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and consultant to standing delegations of the United Nations.
