Robert Spitz has over 45 years experience in chemical and metallurgical engineering. Since 1981, Bob has been a consultant to a number of companies providing technical expertise for the production of metals, inorganic and organic chemicals, ceramics, fuels and petroleum products. Bob has evaluated new and existing technologies for scrap metal recycling, recovery of byproducts, gasification of carbon materials, desulfurization of fuels, production of fine and bulk chemicals and the treatment of industrial wastes. He has provided interactive technical and economic analyses during both laboratory development programs and project planning to permit selection of best process alternatives. Prior to consulting, Bob was a process engineer at Kennecott Copper Company where he evaluated long range technology trends for recovering metals from ores.

Bob graduated from MIT with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and is the holder of numerous patents, issued and pending. He has published and presented papers in several technical symposia.
