Bill Haywood has over 32 years experience in executive and senior management positions in refining, energy and biofuels. Bill recently completed two years as CEO, President and Board member of a venture backed cleantech petroleum startup company, LS9 Inc. He successfully led the company from proof of concept to commercial capability while successfully completing two rounds of fund raising and arranging strategic partnerships with two Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that, Bill was Senior Vice President for Tesoro Petroleum, directly responsible for the P&L of seven refineries in the western US. He led acquisition, integration and ramp up of assets that drive focus on safe, profitable operation resulting in significant share price appreciation and recognition from financial and regulatory sectors. He has a long history of leading successful refinery performance while working for Mobil Oil, Ultramar, Ultramar Diamond Shamrock and Tesoro. Bill has also had responsibility for more than $5B in capital project programs working with world class EPC companies as both the responsible owner executive and directly as a project manger on Domestic and International programs. He has directed strategic turnarounds for several multi-billion dollar refining companies working with the financial investment community, insurance companies and government officials resulting in significant increases in shareholder return. He has both chaired and been a member of several industry associations. Bill earned an MBA from Pepperdine, Civil Engineering degree from Ohio State and a BS in Pre-Med from Miami U., Ohio.
